About

PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

The philosophy of Bishop Leonard Saint Mary of the Mount Academy is based on the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ.  As educators in the Christ image, we are concerned with the development of each child as a whole person.  A distinctly Catholic component of the surrounding communities, Bishop Leonard Saint Mary of the Mount Academy provides a caring and nurturing atmosphere in which a child may grow spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally and morally.  We strive to foster in the mind of the child a sense of personal dignity and worth as well as a respect for the uniqueness of others and a deep love for God.

At Bishop Leonard Saint Mary of the Mount Academy, we encourage each child to acquire a solid religious background.  The religious experience is fostered through daily instruction, prayer, liturgical services and a strong on-going sacramental program.  We believe this promotes a firm, active faith in each child’s life and in the community.

Bishop Leonard Saint Mary of the Mount Academy provides each child with a strong foundation in core academic areas.  Our curriculum also provides opportunities for every child to experience a diverse range of enrichment programs.

At Bishop Leonard Saint Mary of the Mount Academy we believe in a spirit of service both within the school community and extending outward to the larger communities of parish, neighborhood, city and world.

We believe that communication is vital to understanding our commitment to Catholic Education.  Administration, faculty, staff, and parents strive to work cooperatively to meet the unique needs and capabilities of each child at Bishop Leonard Saint Mary of the Mount Academy.
