Bishop Leonard Saint Mary of the Mount Academy has been a merger school since 2006. Located at the site of Saint Mary of the Mount School in Mount Washington, Catholic education has been in this area for over one hundred years. BLSMMA serves the families in the areas of Allentown, Arlington, Baldwin, Beltzhoover, BonAir, Carrick, Duquesne Heights, Knoxville, Mount Oliver and Mount Washington.
BLSMMA is a full service school offering Kindergarten through eighth grades and a Pre-school/day Care/Extended Day program beginning at 7:00 a.m. and not ending until 6:00 p.m.
Currently enrollment at BLSMMA is at 165. There are 12 faculty members on staff. The school has two buildings. Sullivan Hall houses the school gymnasium and cafeteria where many events are held. We are a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). The staff is well qualified and certified. BLSMMA has received accreditation from the Middle States Association.
The Children’s Center is a state licensed facility allowing for forty eight students. There are also six employees (more during the summer camp) who are trained, certified and continuously involved in staff development.
A summer camp is held each summer reaching out to parents who are in need this service.
